We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an Executive Director, Human Resources. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.
Summary:
The Executive Director, Human Resources, helps define the future of Human Resources at Brewer Science. The position leads in preparing the organization for change, enhancing organizational effectiveness, improving employee engagement, and driving cultural transformation. A successful candidate must be results oriented and have strong knowledge of HR operations, guiding and directing the HR organization to effectively deliver key outcomes for the company. The role involves strategic planning, program development, utilization of metrics and HR analytics, as well as collaboration with leaders across the organization to ensure alignment between business growth and future workforce expectations and effectiveness.
The role also requires strong people skills, with the ability to envision and champion a “human leadership” approach that elevates the EQ of the entire company and supports thought diversity, trust, mutual respect, and understanding. The Executive Director, Human Resources, must prioritize getting things done through people, not just through process.
By using insight, judgement, data, and behavioral science, this position influences and supports the organization’s readiness for growth in people practices. It elevates the employee value proposition, improves employee experience, and oversees organizational development.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a core member of the Executive Director team.
- Develop and execute strategic direction within the organization and drive that into the company’s long-term business vision, growth and strategy.
- Collaborate with company leadership to align people initiatives with company growth, workforce trends and uncertainty for operational improvements and employee value proposition enhancements.
- Facilitate the smooth implementation of change management initiatives that support organization growth through the development and execution of people initiative, including communication strategies, training programs, and high levels of engagement.
- Ensure organizational design, people strategies and Human Resources initiatives align and acknowledge the future talent mindsets, needs, wants, expectations of their “Employer of Choice.”
- Design and implement program improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness to maximize on the knowledge, skills and abilities of our talent to prepare them for future growth and fulfillment.
- Oversee and evaluate the effectiveness of performance drivers and processes to ensure alignment with future growth while maintaining an organizational culture that promotes innovation, collaboration and high performance to enhance employee engagement and create a supportive work environment.
- Continuously evaluate and assess the current organizational people structure, behaviors, culture and workplace experience and identify gaps and areas for improvement, and develop recommendations for change to provide unique and impactful people practices and experience
- Utilize data, professional insights, networking, and analytics to build people strategies for the future and uncover methodology to track effectiveness of change and measure impact.
- Be a strategic advisor to stakeholders at all levels and be influential in driving positive change in their structure and initiatives to support the needs of the future workforce and the needs of the business.
- Focus on and provide company leadership, along with the other executive directors, in the planning, development, and execution of organizational strategy globally, and help to set a clear direction for the company.
- Develop and implement the company’s short-term and long-term business plan, along with the other Executive Directors and Corporate Leadership Team, to accomplish key corporate objectives.
- Formulate and administer policies and procedures that have a company-wide impact and and/or significant impact on company performance.
- Forecast and submit budget requirements and monitor and report on financial performance against budget.
- Manage employee success by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, supporting professional development, and creating an environment of psychological safety and intentional inclusion.
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate employees and facilities to accomplish the functions and goals of the business unit; plan the use of materials and resources for efficient accomplishment of business unit functions.
- Act as a “connector manager” to ensure the organization’s strategies are connected and not conflicting strategies; this includes the cross functional coordination of company priorities and strategic alignment of resources, including talent.
- Collaborate with other Leadership Team members to position BSI as a global market leader. Analyze competitive opportunities and threats, along with the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, and determine effective strategies for competitive positioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business, communication or related field and
- 12+ years of increased responsibilities in human resources and
- 10+ years progressive leadership experience or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education & Credentials:
- Master's degree in human resources, psychology, communication, or related field or MBA.
- PHR or SPHR certification or equivalent.
