Summary

Farallon Consulting provides environmental consulting services to clients throughout the West Coast and beyond with offices in Washington, Oregon, and California. Our 100% employee- owned company is seeking a HR Director. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and a critical member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will be responsible for supporting our company’s exciting mission, vision, and core values and own all things related to our employees including talent acquisition, employee experience, engagement, retention, leader and employee development, workforce planning, and operational HR systems. The Issaquah, Washington office location is preferred for this role.

The HR Director will be both strategic and tactical in providing support to all our leadership team and team members. They will design, define, and drive our employee roadmap across all employee related programs. The successful candidate will have the ability to help scale our high-performing culture, combined with empathy and inclusion, to ensure that Farallon is able to attract and hire the right employees as we grow our product and services, year over year. This is a hands-on role that requires identifying, building, and developing operational capabilities in a continually growing environment with a small and nimble HR team.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with leadership and the HR team to perform ongoing gap analysis and define/drive our employee roadmap to help us best achieve our short- and long-term business Foresee scaling challenges, partner with leadership on organizational design, and manage change initiatives to create and maintain a high- performing and collaborative team.
  • Values and Culture: Ensure our core values are evident in all decisions, programs, processes and are aligned with our mission, culture, and diversity initiatives as we grow. Promote a culture of employee ownership and act as an advocate for the Employee Stock Ownership Plan philosophy.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Partner with the Senior Leadership team to drive leadership development and effectiveness that aligns with our business Develop mentoring and career development programs that prepare employees to be successful in today’s environment as well as the future.
  • Full Lifecycle Recruiting Leadership: Manage the talent acquisition strategy and recruiting processes to address both short and long-term talent Develop and execute best-in-class practices for end-to-end candidate experience inclusive of sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and new hire orientation/onboarding.
  • Performance Management: Provide direction and support to functional leaders to help grow our employees’ capabilities and improve our retention Design and implement company-wide performance management programs that drive employee performance in support of company goals, provide ongoing feedback and learning, and reward employees for performance excellence. Ensure the consistent application of HR practice and coach managers and employees through performance management issues, and act as a trusted resource for employees and leaders on all employee related matters.
  • Operations: Manage effective HR Operations including HR systems administration, compensation, HR metrics/reporting, leaves of absence, benefits, employee surveys, and exit Ensure compliance with employment regulations at federal and state levels, leveraging outside counsel when necessary.

Travel 

Occasional overnight travel is possible for this position. Local day travel may also be necessary.



Requirements

Required Education and Certification 

  • S. degree in HR or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years of leadership experience
  • Master’s degree in relevant field, PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification preferred
  • Experience in Washington, Oregon, and California preferred
  • Experience in the Environmental or Engineering industry preferred
